Thompson Biology

This product is a browser-based interactive companion to Solomon’s Biology textbook, produced for Thompson Learning. The program is geared toward college biology students and includes features such as interactive tutorials and simulations, each featuring a mix of Flash animations and quizzes. This product was designed to coordinate with the printed textbook.

I began this project as creative and functionality lead. Along with another designer, we collabarated on site mock-ups and combined our efforts for a successful layout. We were also put in charge of the sites functionality and expanded off of the project manager’s original architecture ideas in order for this product to perform at its best. As the project moved beyond its development stage, creative lead was handed over to our illustrator for the production and conclusion of the project. My roles included developing original page layout and structure, creating wireframes, determining navigation, and leading the team in our creative effort.
